In the Lion's den . Pre Production . 2007

In February 2007, Director Fekri Baroshi and Producers Sardar Babakir and Jesus Roldan went into pre-production for the director’s debut feature film, In the Lion’s Den. The film is scheduled to begin production with a US film crew in the month of June, 2007, and will be filmed in HD. Most of the movie will be shot in Hawler (Arbil/Irbil/Erbil) and was funded by the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Ministry of Culture. The movie has received a great deal of support from local security forces and Christian Assyrians within the Ainkawa community within the Arbil region. The actors are a mixed group of Kurds, Arabs, and Assyrians. Due to security issues and the sensitive nature of the film’s subject, most of the details of the story have not yet been released.

Visual K Motion Picture production & Distribution Company

Visual K is a production company based out of Hawler (Erbil) Kurdistan, that was started by filmmaker Fekri Baroshi and business entrepreneur Muhammad A. Xalil. This company is dedicated to the production and promotion of Kurdish cinema and its expansion into the international film market. Its first feature film production, In the Lion’s Den, is currently in pre-production/development phase.
